University of Delaware
Delaware Valley Safety Council (DVSC) and the University of Delaware (UD) have entered into a memorandum of agreement resulting in a partnering of the two organizations with the intent of creating, presenting and promoting safety training programs in the greater Delaware Valley region. DVSC has long been interested in creating win-win scenarios with like-minded entities which result in blending the strengths of both organizations to produce results that exceed each’s individual capabilities. In other words, in the classic sense, the whole can be greater than the sum of the parts.
The University of Delaware, a highly respected educational institution, is uniquely positioned to not only market and host safety training with DVSC, but also to work with DVSC in creating original safety training in areas of need. While UD hosts our Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), Safe Supervisor and the Certificate for Occupational Safety Managers (COSM) programs in conjunction with DVSC, the partners are also working together to develop courses that address unique safety issues that will further our goal of bringing every worker home safely from the workplace every day. The latest program DVSC has developed with UD is a certification program Diminishing Human Error in the Workplace.
