Basic Orientation Plus® Refresher course, created by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC), is a computer-based course designed to remind contractor employees of general safety rules, regulations, practices and principles associated with the construction and contract maintenance/service industry, as well as inform the experienced employee of any changes that have been made in those rules, regulations and or standards. The purpose of this course is to reduce injuries by educating workers so that they will have a better understanding and knowledge of safety. The following topics meet generic level training, meaning that the content covered is common to all employers: Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Electrical Safety for Unqualified Workers, Hazard Communication, Elevated Work, Scaffold Safety, Ladder Safety, Process Safety Management (PSM), Job Hazard Analysis, and Occupational Heat Stress. Basic Orientation Plus® Refresher Orientation
Executive Course Summary:
The Basic Orientation Plus® Refresher course is a 2.5 Hour program. Basic Orientation Plus® Refresher is an annual update for the Basic Orientation Plus® course (pre-requisite). Any regulatory changes over the year are covered as well as a review. This class is only for those who have first taken the live classroom BOP class. Eligible individuals are permitted to take the Basic Orientation Plus Refresher with a grace period of four (4) years beyond the one (1) year expiration date in compliance with ARSC five (5) year record retention policy. A trainee, whose Basic Orientation Plus (r) or Basic Orientation Plus – Refresher (r) training has been expired for over four (4) years will be required to retake the initial Basic Orientation Plus (r).
